Problems with these drinks and what controversial ingredients are in them and the medical issues that

have popped up from consumption of these drinks.

There has been a dramatic rise in visits to the ER due to the dangerous effects of drinking energy drinks. Energy drinks can have severe health effects on children, teenagers, and young adults.

Some ingredients in energy drinks are caffeine, which is often combined with taurine, glucuronolactone, guarana, and B vitamins.some medical issues that can happen after drinking an energy drink are anxiety and stress, to increased blood pressure, obesity, kidney damage, fatigue, stomachaches, and irritation.

What is the attraction to these products that has made this a multi-billion $ industry?

People buy them to help them function their brains when they are tired. Many people buy energy drinks and use them instead of working out.

Energy drinks help people wake up and get energy that is why they buy them.

Explain and discuss how energy drinks are being regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Should they take further steps?...why or why not?

The food and drug administration put whatever they would like and give it to kids even if there are not kid-friendly things inside it. I think they should take this a step further. I think this because parents and guardians are letting kids drink this and they should not be drinks this. Another reason I think they should take this a step further is because they contain alcohol and caffeine in them and people are bringing them to school.

Is it the right of the individual to choose what they consume or should Cooper (other schools) have rules regarding allowing students to consume these products in their schools?

I think cooper or other schools should have rules of not to have them near the school or in the school but I think it would be the parent’s responsibility to make sure the kids don't drink them at home. I think this because it is not the schools fault if a kid drinks it at home because they can not be there to tell them not to it is the parent’s responsibility.

I believe that energy drinks are like coffee, you do not have to drink the, but people do because they want the energy. Coffee is also unhealthy for your brain and has withdrawal symptoms as extreme tiredness. I believe that energy drinks should not be allowed more caffeine than a cup of coffee per dose.

There is alcohol in energy drinks? according to red bull Red Bull Energy Drink is a non-alcoholic beverage. There is no indication that Red Bull Energy Drink has any specific effect (negative or positive) related to alcohol consumption.

I agree. I knew energy drinks were not good but I didn't know the affects it had. And besides children shouldn't be drinking energy drinks.
