Welcome to the PE BLOG & website! Now that the school year is underway the P.E. TEAM wants to keep Cooper parents up to speed in the world of Physical Education! The P.E. Team is comprised of the following:

We are the P.E. teachers at Cooper.  Our website & blog is an informal way to provide you with information about Cooper’s Physical Education program.  If you have any Comments or Questions please email us. Mr. Eckert:

Hi, my name is Mr. Eckert and I'm an alumni of Cooper. I have been teaching Physical Education at Cooper Middle School since 2002. I also coach water polo & diving at Buffalo Grove High School. I graduated with my with my degree in Physical Education from Northeastern University. I also received a Masters in Curriculum and Design from Saint Xavier University.  I am a club sponsor for Fitness Club, Intramurals, and World Cup Soccer.  I hope you will join us!

Mrs. Poynor:

Hi, I'm Mrs. Poynor!  I've been in the district since 2008!  I am also a product of district 21 having attended Frost Elementary and Holmes Middle School.  I attended Illinois State University for my under graduate degree where I was a member of the swimming & diving team.  I look forward to a great year promoting fitness!

Mr. Thiessen:

Hi, my name is Mr. Thiessen.  I am a former Cooper student, Class of '83 and I have been teaching here at Cooper since 1996.  I got my teaching degree from Northern Michigan University and my Master's degree from Northern Illinois University.  I coach the boys and girls Cross Country teams, 8th grade boys basketball team and 7th grade girls volleyball.  I am glad to be a part of a great Physical Education Department here at Cooper.  I hope you have a great year.

Mrs. Trail:

Hi, my name is Mrs. Trail. I have been teaching Physical Education at Cooper Middle School since 2008. I graduated with my with my degree in Physical Education from University of Illinois. I am a club sponsor for Intramurals and World Cup Soccer.  I look forward to a great year!
