If you signed up for World Cup Soccer here are the rules you'll need to know! Please let me know if you have any questions!






World Cup Soccer Rules


*If there are a large amount of teams on a set day, teams will play until the time ends or a team leads by 3 goals


*Game starts off with a pass (cannot score on a kick-off) only the team kicking-off can go in the center circle. Defense cannot attack until the ball has been touched.


*Goalie must roll the ball the ball back into play

*Goalie may play the ball on the ground (with their feet)

*Goalie area is the green line (V-ball court endline extended) to 3pt. arch

*Goalies must take off jersey

*Goalie may run the entire field (only if the team is short-handed players)


*6 players on the field at a time (run what you have present...NO subs from other teams; it is ok to play 6 vs 3). If a team is short-handed players they could agree to a forfeit and sub players for a competitive game...teams playing could agree upon other rules if needed


*on a direct kick, place the ball down, wait for the whistle, the wall must be 10 steps back from ball

*tripping, pushing, hand-ball

*all violations are direct kicks and unsportsmanlike conduct could result in being kicked out of a game

*In the case of a tie the total # of goals against the top teams will determine the higher seed (there will NOT be a shoot-out).


*Penalty shot on goal (kicker and goalie) Note: ball is live after the shot and the shot must be a serious attempt to score before the ball will become live (any other type of kick (i.e. pass to a teammate will result in a direct kick for the opposing team). The following will result in a penalty shot:

*Goalie wearing a jersey

*Goalie that punts or throws a ball

*Goalie comes out of area and uses their hands

*Shot on kick-off

*Hand ball inside 3 point arc

* Too many players on the field at one time will be a (you are responsible for subbing accordingly)



--- If the ball hits the net of the goal (on the side or behind the goal), except for scoring a goal, it is a dead ball and goalie ball


*Students are to stay for all the games unless previously cleared by the officials


*Any serious interference by a spectator/player that is not currently participating, at the official's discretion, could result a forfeit of the following game for their team.
